About HOBB
House of Beloved Brands (HOBB) is building the Cultural Food Operating System for independent retail.
We exist to help culturally-rooted food brands from Latin America, the Caribbean, and emerging global communities access modern U.S. retail infrastructure without losing their identity in the process. Through HOBB Marketplace, Origins, and Atlas, we’re creating a connected ecosystem that bridges storytelling, commerce, retail intelligence, and distribution.
- HOBB Marketplace connects independent retailers with culturally authentic products built for real neighborhood demand.
- Origins documents the people, histories, recipes, and cultural movements behind beloved food brands and communities.
- Atlas powers supplier growth with market entry infrastructure, retail visibility, operational tooling, and distribution intelligence.
But HOBB is more than a marketplace or logistics platform.
We’re building a new cultural infrastructure around how food moves, how diaspora communities stay connected to home, and how independent retailers compete in an industry dominated by scale players. The brands and store owners we work with are often multi-generational operators whose stories have historically been overlooked despite shaping entire neighborhoods and economies.
Storytelling is central to how we build trust, movement, and category leadership. Video is how we bring that world to life.
This is HOBB.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Founding Video Producer — a multidisciplinary visual storyteller who can shoot, edit, direct, and build the creative systems behind HOBB’s media presence.
You’ll help define the visual identity of HOBB across Marketplace, Origins, and Atlas — creating films, documentaries, launch campaigns, founder stories, retail features, social content, and product storytelling that make HOBB impossible to ignore.
You’ll work directly with leadership to create the emotional and visual language behind one of the most ambitious companies in cultural commerce and food infrastructure.
This is a rare opportunity to shape the media engine of a category-defining company at the ground floor.
What You’ll Do
Build the Visual Universe
Concept, shoot, and edit stories that bring HOBB’s mission to life — from independent retailer documentaries and supplier origin stories to product launches, social campaigns, and platform explainers.
Lead Origins Storytelling
Help build the visual identity of Origins, documenting the human stories behind beloved food brands, immigrant entrepreneurship, neighborhood grocers, and cultural food systems.
Own the Edit
Create high-quality cinematic and social-first content with strong taste, pacing, and emotional resonance — while operating with startup-level speed and agility.
Build Repeatable Media Systems
Develop scalable production frameworks, editing workflows, templates, motion systems, and brand standards that allow HOBB to produce storytelling at scale.
Create for Marketplace + Atlas
Produce content that supports:
- Supplier acquisition
- Retail partner onboarding
- Product launches
- Distribution storytelling
- Educational content
- Category insights
- Paid social and performance campaigns
Ship with Velocity
Operate like an internal creative studio — filming, editing, iterating, and publishing consistently while continuously raising the quality bar.
Bridge Story + Commerce
Work closely with marketing and growth teams to create content that not only feels emotionally compelling, but also drives measurable business outcomes across Marketplace and Atlas.
Experiment with New Media
Prototype new formats across short-form, documentary, AI-assisted creative workflows, retail storytelling, and platform-native content.
Help Build the Creative Engine
As HOBB grows, help shape future creative systems, contributor networks, freelance production relationships, and storytelling talent pipelines.
